Finola, studio owner, is a gifted communicator and teacher with an MA in Design and Visual Research from Brighton University. She has been teaching throwing now for over 10 years and this course has been honed and refined over her career. It is designed to give you lots of support and time on the wheel so that by the end you feel more confident in your ceramics practice.

Lucy Turner, ceramics tutor, became acquainted with ceramics during a Foundation Diploma at the Bristol School of Art and subsequently graduated with a BA Hons in ceramics from Cardiff School of Art and Design in 2018. She is a very experienced and talented tutor who will help guide you on your ceramics journey.

The Beginners Plus Pottery course has been designed for Potters who have completed a Beginners Pottery Course and are ready to further develop their skills. This four-week course gives you the opportunity to use our studio to explore and develop your technique and have our tutors guide you on the areas outlined below:

Handle making
Turning
Throwing larger forms
Centering and pulling up guidance / surgery
Help and advice about selecting, preparing, and reclaiming clay
